MPS are set to get a pay rise of an additional £2,000 this spring. They’re already on a basic salary of just shy of £82k while the average wage in the UK is £31k.
Not suggesting they should be on that, of course, but surely this is the wrong time to accept even more dosh? Read the room people. Most of your constituents are facing horrendous rises in the cost of living with NI going up, energy bills soaring and everything from fuel to baked beans doubling in price.
If you can’t survive on £82k, maybe pop along to the pensioner on £179 a week for some advice?
