Your round-up of this week’s biggest showbiz stories Holly’s HEARTBREAK

-

Holly Willoughby, 41, has divided fans after repeatedly breaking down on screen amid the crisis in Ukraine. The presenter struggled to keep her emotions in check as she and This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield discussed the war. But while some viewers were understanding, others questioned not only her professionalism, but whether her reaction was even genuine.

Like many of us Holly shed a tear after a heartbreaking video from a bomb shelter in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, emerged. After the video – in which a seven-year-old girl sang Let It Go from Frozen

– was played on This Morning, Holly choked, ‘Such innocence, isn’t it? It’s horrible, it’s horrible.’

It’s not the only time she’s broken down while discussing the unfolding horrors.

She also wiped away tears during an item on an 11-year-old Ukrainian boy forced to flee the country alone, and some have slammed her for getting emotional. ‘Holly with the crocodile tears,’ wrote one, and another said, ‘I’m sorry but I just don’t buy Holly and Phil’s tears.’ A third wrote, ‘When is this woman going to get a grip ???? People are suffering and she’s crying from a huge house of safety ?????? #Itsallaboutme.’

It wasn’t all criticism though. One fan wrote, ‘I absolutely can understand Holly crying. Remember we could be in a difficult situation one day.’ Another added, ‘Can someone please give Holly a hug.’
