BRIDGERTON STAR UNDER PRESSURE
He may be the focus of Bridgerton’s second series but life in showbiz hasn’t always been easy for Jonathan Bailey (who plays Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix show). The star, 33, felt pressure to hide his sexuality to get roles and recalled advice an actor friend was given. ‘He was told, “There’s two things we don’t want to know: if you’re an alcoholic or if you’re gay.” Now though, the star is far happier living life on his own terms. He explains, ‘I’d much prefer to hold my boyfriend’s hand in public… and not be so concerned about that than get a part.’
