‘GANGSTA GRANNY’
The Rolling Stones are back on tour again this year despite the sad passing of drummer Charlie Watts. Their combined age is possibly close to something from the Jurassic period but it’s the only way they get their satisfaction, obviously.
The band have always made a point of taking their families with them on tour, which reminds me of a recent interview with guitarist Ron Wood’s ex-wife, the lovely Jo.
She admits that her grandchildren – of which she has 10 – call her Gangsta Granny and are fascinated by her rock and roll heritage.
‘They ask me if I’ve ever done drugs and of course I say yes,’ she admits.
Guessing it would be daft to deny it in her position, but would you do the same with your kids and grandkids?
If you can talk to them and explain what it’s like, that’s got to be better than the old ‘do as I say, not as I do’ adage?
Can’t be many grannies who have never taken a trip these days…
