JUST TODDLE INTO TOWN!

The new smash hit on Netflix is a Japanese series called Old Enough. It’s a reality show that features children as young as two doing errands without their parents.

It literally features tots barely out of nappies being sent to the local supermarket to stock up on supplies.

Amazingly, none of them has come to any harm (so far!) and most seem to cope remarkably well with the trust they are given.

OK it’s a gimmick, but it makes you wonder how much we wrap our youngsters up in cotton wool these days.

We seem to ferry them everywhere, insist on tracking them via mobile phones and warn them not to talk to strangers – even when they’re in their teens!
