‘I CAN’T WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO SEE IT!’

The Derry Girls star on his new comedy role…

- Dylan Llewellyn

Based on the real-life experiences of comedian and author Jack Rooke, new C4 comedy Big Boys follows the unlikely friendship between two very different university students.

Best known as

James in C4’s hit sitcom Derry Girls,

Dylan plays closeted gay teen Jack, and Plebs star Jon Pointing is straight Danny.

‘The story starts with the loss of Jack’s father and it shows the bond that he has with his mum Peggy (Camille Coduri),’ explains Dylan. ‘They’re really close, but Jack wants to fly the nest and find himself, so that’s when he goes to university and has this adventure.

‘Danny’s the complete opposite of Jack, so I don’t know why they get on so brilliantly, but they do. It’s such a sweet story and I can’t wait for people to see it!’ As well as starring in Big Boys, Dylan’s also filmed the final series of

Derry Girls, which has just finished on C4, and the Sex Pistols biopic Pistol, which is due to drop on Disney+.

‘Last year was pretty busy for me, but I’m so glad to be working so much,’ says Dylan. ‘I shot Pistol in the summer. Then I went onto Big Boys and then Derry Girls straight after that. It was a bit frustrating because I missed the Big Boys wrap party. It looked like the most fun I’ve ever seen!’
