THE DOS AND DON’TS

-

1 DO USE SUNCREAM

When treating pigmentation, skin can become more sensitive so always use a high SPF of at least 30, even when it’s cloudy outside. Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is essential to prevent premature skin ageing and dark patches from getting worse.

2 DO SEEK SHADE

UV rays are at their strongest between the hours of 10am and 4pm so head indoors if you can, otherwise wear a hat and long-sleeved, highnecked clothing to protect your skin from strong sun.

3 DON’T OVERLOAD IT

Too many active ingredients can cause irritation. Stay consistent with your skincare routine and don’t try lots of different products in a short time. Find a routine that works for you, and stick to it.

4 DON’T FRET

A heavy-duty concealer like Vichy Dermablend SOS Cover Concealer Stick, £15, Boots, is an instant fix. Dab onto dark patches and blend with the warmth of your fingertip. Top with a little setting powder.
