HELL AT HOME

-

A huge mansion in one of California’s most prestigious neighbourhoods might sound like a heavenly place to live, but for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it seems their home life has been hellish of late thanks to a string of security breaches.

Harry and Meghan relocated to the celeb-loved area in Santa Barbara County back in July 2020 but now reports have revealed that the couple, who live in the £11 million home with their two children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, were recently subjected to two intruder scares in just 12 days.

Santa Barbara Police records show that police rushed to the couple’s home on their wedding anniversary, 19 May, in response to a trespasser report, and that a second intruder alert was answered by the police on 31 May, just hours before the family headed to the UK for Queen’s Jubilee.

Both logged calls were said to include the words ‘trespasser’, ‘property crimes’ and ‘suspicious circumstances’, and on the log for the second incident, notes read, ‘documentation of a trespasser, who left’. Further records indicate there have been six security alert calls about their house in the past 14 months.

As well as a state-of-the-art security system at home, the couple employ Barack Obama’s former bodyguard Christopher Sanchez and Michael Jackson’s former security chief Alberto Alvarez for protection. News of security issues in California broke shortly after it was confirmed Harry will be offered a judicial review after his UK security detail was withdrawn following their exit as senior royals.

Perhaps you should be more worried about protecting your family home first, Haz…
