He lied about having a daughter

My partner of a year has just admitted that he has a two-yearold daughter. He says he didn’t tell me when we got together as he thought it would put me off. I just don’t see how he could lie for so long and why he would choose not to see his baby (it’s his decision, not his ex’s). We have been trying to get pregnant, but now I just don’t trust him.

While it is hard to mention you have a child at the start of a relationship, not saying it when you are actively trying for another child does raise red flags. Outside of the lying, you need to talk to your partner about why he won’t see his child and whether he supports her financially or not. All of these things are relevant to your baby hopes for the future and whether he is someone you can rely on in the long-term.
