HAMPERED BY HAY FEVER?

If your summer is seen through red, itchy and streaming eyes, try these tips…

-

1 TAKE A SHOWER

Spending long periods of time outside? Wash your hair and body and change clothes as soon as you get home. ‘Pollen is virtually indestructible unless it’s wet, so will stay on hair, body and clothes until washed off,’ says Holly Shaw, nurse advisor at Allergy UK.

2 KEEP WINDOWS CLOSED

‘This is particularly important in the early mornings, when pollen is being released, and in the evening, when the air cools and pollen that has been carried up into the air begins to fall to the ground,’ says Holly. Hide your pillows under the bed covers during the day, to prevent pollen settling on them when the windows are open.

3 PICK THE RIGHT FRAMES

Wear wraparound sunglasses when you’re outside to stop airborne pollen creeping into your eyes.
