I LIED TO GET A JOB
Q
After being out of work for three months, I have just been offered a role. The problem is I lied to get it. I said I had bookkeeping experience but have never worked in accounts. I feel awful, but I need this job. Should I bluff it out?
A
While many people exaggerate to get a job, saying you are trained in accounts when you aren’t is something you will get caught out on. Bookkeeping is not a bluff-your-way-through job, and being caught out will be worse than saying no to this job and finding one that suits your skills.
