Gather fallen leaves
A build-up of wet, fallen leaves on your lawn can suffocate the turf and can make paths dangerously slippery. Use a lawn rake or leaf blower to gather up the leaves into a pile. Then put them in jute or netting bags – or use a bin liner with holes pierced into it, tie the top loosely, then store out of sight for up to two years. The leaves will decompose to create a wonderful soil conditioner for your garden in the spring.
