Replenish compost bins
Empty out well-rotted material from your compost bins and spread a thin layer over the top of the soil, then work the compost deeper into the ground just after the first freeze. The worms will do the hard work for you over the winter and drag the compost down into the soil ready for your spring planting. Your compost bins can then be filled up again with this year’s waste, to become next year’s ‘black gold’.
