She was a 90s icon, but a cosmetic procedure gone wrong left Linda Evangelista distraught.
The 57-year-old – who has featured in over 700 magazines as well as gracing the catwalks of countless fashion houses – underwent a fatfreezing procedure known as Coolsculpting in 2015. The treatment promises to freeze and ‘decrease’ fat cells but the procedure had the opposite effect on Linda, who reached a legal settlement with the company involved. She said, ‘I was brutally disfigured by Zeltiq’s Coolsculpting procedure. PAH [paradoxical adipose hyperplasia] has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness and the lowest depths of self-loathing.’ A new photo shoot has seen the once-hailed model make her comeback, though she admitted, ‘That’s not my jaw and neck in real life – and I can’t walk around with tape and elastics everywhere.’
