If you’re guilty of blowing your food budget on a regular basis, work out what your downfall is, then take steps to avoid it. For instance, if you always buy lunch at work, make your own the night before. Or if you’re tempted by takeaways, is it because you don’t have anything else to eat? Stock up on staples to make easy meals – think pasta and jars of sauce. Or if it’s because you don’t fancy cooking, keep ready meals in your freezer instead.
