JUSTICE FOR MAHSA

-

You may not know the name of Mahsa Amini – but you should. A vibrant 22-year-old with her whole life ahead of her and dreams for the future. But Mahsa was beaten to death as she walked through her local park in Iran by the ironically named ‘morality police’. Her crime? Her headscarf wasn’t properly fastened and covering her hair. This is 2022, remember, yet there are still women whose lives are so governed by men that death is an acceptable punishment for going against the rules. Now women in Iran are rising up. They are burning their veils and marching through the streets of Tehran. The death penalty awaits them for doing so. But you know what? It’s not their faces that show fear, just fury. It’s the men who looked scared. And well, they should be.
