Rashan Charles
Rashan Charles, 20, was a passenger in a car when it was pulled over in Hackney in July 2017. Rashan was pursued on foot by an officer, who chased him into a convenience store.
The unarmed Rashan was then thrown on the floor and subjected to prolonged restraint, while choking on a package of paracetamol and caffeine that he had attempted to swallow. He became unresponsive and died at the scene.
The officers involved, granted anonymity, were ruled to have used justified force and the death ruled an accident. But campaigners are still fighting for justice.
