Keep your bike safe

DOUBLE UP

A quarter of Brits have reported having a bike stolen, according to Moneysupermarket. To protect yours, it advises using two good-quality locks; if you have D-lock and a chain lock, it’s less likely a thief will have the tools to break both.

SITE IT SECURELY

Your bike is only as secure as what you attach it to, so always lock it to something that can’t be moved or lifted. And never leave your bike in an isolated place – lock it in a well-lit, busy area instead.

GET REGISTERED

In addition to insuring your bike, it’s important to register it on Bikeregister, The National Cycle Database (bike register.com). This helps the police to identify a stolen bike and boosts the chance of it being returned to the owner.
