HAS HOLLY HAD ENOUGH?

As fans notice the star rolling her eyes at Phil, things between the pair seem fractured

-

They appear to be the best of friends – Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have holidayed together and praise each other’s support. But with fans noticing a very tense moment between the pair live on This Morning, is there trouble in paradise?

Rumours of a rift swirled after mum-of-three Holly, 41, appeared to roll her eyes at Phil live on This Morning. The pair – who’ve been at the helm of the ITV show since 2009 – were interviewing Bali bombings survivor Polly Brooks MBE when Phil cut Holly off mid-sentence, and Holly appeared to pull a frustrated face at her co-star as she fell silent.

Viewers were quick to comment. One posted the clip, saying, ‘Holly’s eye roll when Phil cuts her off.’ Another added, ‘That was some side-eye slide.’ Elsewhere, a fan wrote, ‘Holly has had enough.’

The awkward moment comes just weeks after the presenters were forced to deny they skipped the queue to see Queen Elizabeth II lying in state. The scandal culminated in a statement from Holly and Phil played on This Morning after a petition to have them sacked from the show gained over 70,000 signatures. They vehemently denied they’d done anything other than create content for This Morning. Sources claimed Holly in particular was unhappy that coverage of the scandal appeared to focus on her.

But public anger doesn’t seem to be going away. The pair were booed during the National Television Awards earlier this month when This Morning won the Best Daytime television award – with Holly then leaving the event early.

In the past, the pair have insisted they are as thick as thieves, with Holly suggesting she’d never do the show without Phil. She once said, ‘We’ve always said from the beginning that if either of us left we wouldn’t want to do it, as I can’t imagine This Morning without Phil.’

It wouldn’t be the first time dad-of-two Phillip has fallen out with a co-star. The animosity between him and Fern Britton, who he presented the show with before Holly came along, has been well documented. He is also believed to not get on with Amanda Holden, reportedly blocking her from filling in for Holly in 2018 while she was off doing I’m A Celebrity…

SEPARATE WAYS

Holly and Phil have already gone their separate ways in one sense as Holly has left management company YMU, which still represents Phil. She’s also presented shows away from Phil, including ITV’S The Games and BBC’S Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof, and has been creating a business away from TV with her Wylde Moon lifestyle platform. So with Holly seeming to take the brunt of the recent backlash and signs of tensions between them, could she decide to walk away from the once-golden pairing? Only time will tell.
