Patricia styled by Amy
LOOK 1: DECEMBER DAYTIME
AMY SAYS: My mum Patricia has the figure for leather trousers, and this look proves it. I also want to inject some colour into her wardrobe and this jacket by Rotate does that perfectly.
PATRICIA SAYS: I would never wear trainers and faux-leather trousers. But maybe I would wear the trousers again – just with a heel!
RUPERT SAYS: Is this really an ‘everyday’ outfit? It might be all right for a party. She’d definitely stand out in those trousers.
PAULA SAYS: I really like each item, but not together. I agree the leather-look trousers would be better with a heel, but I would team with a slouchy jumper for a modern look.
LOOK 2: CHRISTMAS DAY
AMY SAYS: I absolutely love the chic tailoring of this frilled minidress from Needle and Thread. Mum is usually shy about wearing anything short, so I picked this to show off her great legs.
PATRICIA SAYS: This looked better on the hanger. I don’t think it’s at all flattering on me – I don’t have enough of a waist! It would look far better on someone younger.
RUPERT SAYS: I’m not sure about the frilliness – but I definitely love the colour, especially at Christmas.
PAULA SAYS: I personally love this tulle, ruffle minidress – it definitely has the wow factor. But Patricia doesn’t look comfortable in it and there’s too much fabric for her frame, so it’s a no from me!
LOOK 3: NEW YEAR’S EVE
AMY SAYS: I am obsessed with this Self-portrait dress that my mum would never wear in a million years – it literally shimmers and sparkles as she moves. Plus, her figure looks incredible.
PATRICIA SAYS: I never would have tried this – I thought it wouldn’t flatter me at all. But I have been pleasantly surprised – I love it!
RUPERT SAYS: This looks so smart, and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen Patricia in anything like it – I could get used to this.
PAULA SAYS: How great does Patricia look in this? It just goes to show, it’s worth having fun with fashion. This is the cut-out trend done the grown-up way.
