Honey and sesame glazed root veg
The perfect balance of salty and sweet, this will bring your veg centre stage.
TIP YOU CAN MAKE THE GLAZE AND PREP THE VEG THE DAY BEFORE.
YOU WILL NEED 500g carrots, peeled 500g parsnips, peeled 1tbsp oil
For the sauce:
1tbsp honey
1tbsp sesame oil
1tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp tomato puree
1tbsp sesame seeds, to garnish (optional)
HOW TO DO IT

Heat the oven to 180C Fan/gas 6. Cut the carrots and parsnips into 5cm chunks. Toss in the oil then spread onto a lined baking tray and cook for 15 mins.

Meanwhile, combine the sauce ingredients. Drizzle over the sauce and mix well to coat the veg. Season and return to the oven for a further 15 mins until tender and the glaze is sticky and caramelised.

To serve, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
