The World Of The Web

- Diane Kenwood, Editor

While I know there are those of you who don’t use the internet (which is why we always try to give contact numbers or addresses, as well as websites, wherever possible), it’s clear, both from your interaction and communication with us, and from wider statistics, that the majority of older people are increasingly enthusiastic users of the web. More and more of our audience are discovering the opportunities the internet, and social-media sites especially, offer for communication, inspiration, research, making purchases, booking holidays, and creating and building businesses and income.

I can’t tell you what pleasure it gives us all here at WW HQ to read your feedback and comments on our Facebook page. We love it when something we post catches your interest or imagination and the likes and shares soar. And we’re delighted when yet another follower joins us on Pinterest. I’m equally thrilled when you respond to the posts I put up on my Instagram feed @peek_at_my_week. That interaction and sense of community is something the women in our feature on page 10 have discovered and capitalised on in their internet enterprises, and their stories are the perfect demonstration of how age is no limit to the possibilities that the net offers. I’d love to know what sites you visit and enjoy. Let me know on our Facebook page or via the email address on page 6.
