Use Eco-Friendly Glitter

-

Everything from nail polish to bath bombs and facemasks are turning sparkly. It may seem like harmless fun, but experts are saying that glitter poses a threat to marine life and our oceans similar to that of the now-banned microbead. Made from tiny pieces of plastic, which can’t be recycled, the glitter flecks get into our water systems and take hundreds of years to break down.

Want to sparkle safely? Lush uses synthetic mica in its products, while Asos sells bio-glitter made out of cellulose from eucalyptus trees.
