RefResh YOuR skills

One worthwhile step you can take to build your driving confidence is to invest in some refresher lessons to focus on whatever issues you feel are holding you back. Call up a few local driving instructors and ask if they have experience with teaching licensed drivers, and go with whoever you feel most comfortable with. Don’t worry that the instructor will judge you – they’ll be used to nervous drivers and happy to take your lessons at a pace that helps you feel safe.

The road-safety charity iAM Roadsmart runs coaching sessions to help drivers build up their confidence in particular aspects of driving, such as motorway driving or parking. the sessions are held in your own car, and cost £45 for 75 minutes. for details, call 0300 303 1134 or visit iamroadsmart. com/on-road-modules.
