Blanket Strips (make 4) Note that when working any squares in Cream, place chart as instructed.

1st Strip: With 3.75mm needles and Light Green, cast on 32 sts, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up. Beginning with a k row, continue in ss in the following colour sequence, leaving a 25cm tail end at each join for sewing up. Ss 36 rows in Light Green.

Work 36 rows in Cream, as follows: Beginning with a k row, ss 6 rows in Cream.

Place chart: 1st row: K5 Cream, work across 1st row of chart, k5 Cream.

2nd row: P5 Cream, work across 2nd row of chart, p5 Cream. These 2 rows set chart with ss edges.

Continue working from chart as set, to end of 24th row.

Continue in Cream only. Beginning with a k row, ss 6 rows. Break off Cream, leaving a long end for sewing up.

Continue in ss, working 36 rows in Light Brown, 36 rows in Orange and 36 rows in Beige.

With Beige, cast off, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up.

2nd Strip: With 3.75mm needles and Beige, cast on 32 sts, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up. Beginning with a k row work in ss in the following colour sequence, leaving a 25cm end at each join, for sewing up.

Ss 36 rows in Beige, 36 rows in Light Green, 36 rows in Cream with chart as in first strip, 36 rows in Light Brown and 36 rows in Orange. With Orange, cast off, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up.

3rd Strip: With 3.75mm needles and Orange, cast on 32 sts, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up. Beginning with a k row work in ss in the following colour sequence, leaving a 25cm end at each join, for sewing up.

Ss 36 rows in Orange, 36 rows in Beige, 36 rows in Light Green, 36 rows in Cream with chart as in first strip, and 36 rows in Light Brown. With Light Brown, cast off, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up.

4th Strip: With 3.75mm needles and Light Brown, cast on 32 sts, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up. Beginning with a k row work in ss in the following colour sequence, leaving a 25cm tail end at each join, for sewing up.

Ss 36 rows in Light Brown, 36 rows in Orange, 36 rows in Beige, 36 rows in Light Green and 36 rows in Cream with chart as in first strip. With Cream, cast off, leaving a 25cm end for sewing up.

Using picture as a guide, sew row-ends of strips together.

Border top and bottom borders (both alike): With right side facing and with 3.75mm needles and Light Brown, starting at right corner, pick up and k30 sts along each of the 4 squares – 120 sts.

*K 1 row.

Next row: increase row: Inc 1 st, k to last st, inc 1 st – 2 sts increased. K 1 row.

Repeat last 2 rows, 3 times more – 128 sts. Cast off knitwise.

Side borders (both alike): With right side facing and with 3.75mm needles and Light Brown, starting at right corner, pick up and k30 sts along each of the 5 squares – 150 sts.

Work as given for top and bottom borders from *, thus ending with 158 sts. Cast off knitwise. Join mitred corners seams.

Rabbit Tails (make 4 alike)

With 3.25mm needles and White, cast on 1 st.

Make bobble: [K1, yf, k1, yf, k1] all into st, turn, [p5, turn, k5, turn] twice, p2tog, p1, p2tog, turn, slip 1 st, k2tog, pass slipped st over k2tog and fasten off.

To make up Sew tails on rabbits in Cream squares. Using White, embroider eyes.
