Five an­i­mal ar­rivals to this coun­try we should wel­come

The world is full of amaz­ing wildlife, per­fectly adapted to liv­ing in nat­u­ral habi­tats. But hu­man ac­tiv­ity and cli­mate change has meant that an­i­mals and plants – and dis­eases – are trav­el­ling like never be­fore. The UK is now home to nearly 2,000 species which are not na­tive.

A species that ends up out­side its nat­u­ral range may well con­tinue to thrive, and some­times they can cause havoc to ex­ist­ing wildlife, but here are five fas­ci­nat­ing new species we should hope are here to stay.
