Rudolph and co
Many believe the connection between reindeer and Christmas began with Clement Clarke Moore’s 1823 poem, ’Twas The Night Before Christmas. But the most famous reindeer of all, Rudolph, was only introduced in 1939 to boost sales for an American department store. These animals have long been vital to the Sami people of northern Europe, who still herd them to this day.
