BERRY BURST

A plant for shiny pots is Gaultheria mucronata, which becomes laden with berries that gleam like china beads, in colours from pearly white to pink, through to deep claret. For a ‘snowy’ seasonal impact, combine the berries with Erica Springwood White and silver-leaved Convolvulus cneorum. As Gaultheria are acid-loving plants, pot up with ericaceous compost and water with rainwater.
