‘I’m still having too much fun’

-

Rosemary Conley, 72, is one of the Uk’s leading

diet and fitness experts and is still very much enjoying her successful career. ‘I’ve always worked. If I didn’t, I’d go bonkers. Until

five years ago, I worked

very long hours growing

my fitness and exercise business, launching slimming clubs, writing books, releasing DVDs and giving diet advice on TV. In 2012, I was on Dancing

On Ice, which I loved.

‘In 2013, I decided to slow down, so now I’m in the office by 9.15am and out by 4.50pm. Some might say that this is still a full-on day, but compared to what I did before, it’s made a big difference.

‘I’m working on my autobiography, my website,

and filming my daily Motivational Minutes. I’m also patron of a number of charities including STEPS – the Conductive Education Centre, which helps children with cerebral palsy and Down’s syndrome. I’m also the only UK distributor for

Facial-Flex® – a facial exercise gadget that works over 30 muscle groups in the face, neck and chest area.

‘In my spare time, I work out with a personal trainer and take a ballet lesson once a week. I still go ice-skating with my Dancing On Ice partner Mark Hanretty, and teach aerobics. I’ve run my class for 47 years!

‘I enjoy being busy. My father had dementia, and I’m motivated by knowing you can keep it at bay by keeping your brain and body active, combined with a healthy diet.

‘I’m never bored and I love my life. So, no, I won’t be retiring anytime soon. I’m still having too much fun.’
