Is his behaviour normal?

-

Q I’ve been wondering about this for a few weeks now. We moved to a new county just before COVID-19. Our neighbours invited us over for Christmas Day, to join their bubble, which was very kind. Their 14-year-old boy asked if he could watch me change my daughter’s nappy and he later asked if he could do it. I said yes but wasn’t sure if this is a bit odd and something I should worry about? A Would you worry if it had been a 14-year-old girl? My hunch is you’d have thought it was rather lovely

that she wanted to be involved and learn. How do boys learn to be gentle, caring parents and to understand about babies when we worry there is an ulterior motive? If he seemed genuinely interested and you didn’t pick up a worrying vibe, I’m sure it’s as fine as it would be with a girl.
