Eat nuts and seeds for a healthy liver
A daily handful of nuts and seeds could cut your risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Women eating 15-30g a day had a 15% lower risk of the common liver disease, according to a recent study by Australia’s
Deakin University. Lead researcher Dr Elena George explains, ‘Nuts and seeds are rich sources of unsaturated fatty acids, dietary fibre, minerals and antioxidant compounds, which are associated with a decrease in inflammatory markers and increased antioxidant capacity.’
