You should brush your teeth straight after every meal

-

Another no-no. ‘When we eat or drink anything, the sugar in these foods and drinks reacts with the plaque in our mouths to produce plaque acids,’ explains Karen. ‘These acids cause the enamel on our teeth to become demineralised and softened for an hour before the saliva can neutralise them and bring the mouth back to a neutral pH level. If you brush your teeth within this hour, you could be brushing away small particles of enamel, which will lead to enamel erosion.’
