Evening star
Tuberose ‘The Pearl’ (Polianthes
tuberosa) is a delightful plant for a conservatory, greenhouse or sheltered patio. Native to Mexico, its waxy, white flowers exude a gardenia-like fragrance that’s
especially powerful in the evening. In March, plant in a small pot in a warm place, and as it grows, transplant to larger pots. Eventually it bears a tall flower spike (50cm) – perfect to cut for a vase and fill a room with
perfume.
