Dundee cake

-

Dundee Believed to be a fave of the Queen, Dundee cake was created in the 1600s for Mary Queen of Scots, who couldn’t abide cherries in fruit cake. What really sets it apart is the addition of Seville oranges. These were brought to the Port of Dundee by Spanish merchants, which is why Dundee is also the home of marmalade. The cake is decorated with circles of blanched almonds.
