3 Jobs to do in the garden

-

1 Plant artichokes

Jerusalem artichokes should go in now. Plant the tubers in soil enriched with compost, and space them around 30cm apart. Aim for a depth of 10-15cm.

2 Deadhead daffodils

Once they’re past their best, remove the flower heads and seed pods from daffodils. Leave leaves and foliage to die down naturally.

3 Sow parsnips

As the temperature of soil begins to warm, sow parsnip seeds. This will allow them plenty of time to germinate, as they require a long growing season.
