Chysauster Ancient Village Newmill, Cornwall
For a glimpse into life nearly 2,000 years ago, visit Chysauster. The hilltop site is home to the remains of eight to 10 stone-walled houses that date from the late Iron
Age to early Roman times. The houses line a ‘street’ and each had a courtyard surrounded by thatched rooms. They were occupied by farmers, who grew cereal crops and probably kept a few animals too.
Prepare for a steep walk with steps, and be rewarded by some fabulous views across sea and countryside.
