Ready to recycle?

-

Did you know that recyclable bathroom waste accounts for 30-40% of total landfill waste in the UK**? That’s a lot of shampoo bottles being thrown away when they should be recycled! If you’re unsure of where to start, take a look at our at-a-glance guide…

1 RINSE OUT YOUR EMPTIES

Once you’ve finished a bottle, rinse it clean and squash it flat. Recycling centres often reject any with product left in them, and flattening them makes room for more in your bin.

2 GET A SECOND BIN

If the thought of separating your recycling is too much to bear, make the job simple from the get-go and keep a second recycling bin next to your normal bathroom bin. You’ll be far more likely to recycle when collection day comes!

3 SIMPLE SYMBOLS

Most things are now widely recycled but if you’re unsure, take a look at the back of the packaging. The recycling symbols will tell you what’s what.
