It’s always worth talking to your GP about lethargy that’s dragging on. ‘Being tired all the time – known as “TATT” – is extremely common, and the reason for 5-7% of all GP consultations,’ says Dr Deborah Lee of the Dr Fox Online Pharmacy. ‘Your doctor will usually arrange blood tests to exclude any serious medical conditions that cause tiredness.’

Try these

✢ Make time to de-stress More than half of cases of chronic fatigue don’t have a medical cause, but are often caused by stress. Try tai chi, yoga or Pilates to help you unwind.

✢ Tell your doctor if you’re vegan If you don’t eat animal products, a vitamin B12 deficiency could be depleting your energy.

✢ Think about your age and life stage If you are menopausal, HRT may give you a boost, so discuss this with your GP.
