Research from Northumbri­a University found that people aged 65 plus scored 15% higher on memory tests in a room scented by the herb than those in unscented rooms. It’s an excellent tonic to raise spirits and boost recovery after illness or periods of low energy. ‘Just a sniff from it growing at home is enough to give our spirits a lift,’ says Sebastian.
