Ease the ouch

-

Heel pain is typically caused by plantar fasciitis. ‘A telltale sign is the pain strikes as your foot hits the ground, but then eases,’ says Emma. ‘If the pain is more bothersome after long periods of standing, it’s likely to be calcaneal bursitis. But there are other causes, and any heel pain lasting longer than two weeks should be treated by a podiatrist. Increasing your heel height by about 1cm will ease pressure on your heels, and rolling your foot over a tennis ball can help.’
