My go-to remedy

Sleep. Your immune system requires a lot of energy to work effectivel­y, even more when fighting infections, so we need to tune into what our body is telling us and focus on rest. I also turn to my Feel-better Brodo, a nourishing chicken stock (the recipe is in my book) that I use for the base of soups, sauces, stews and curries.

My favourite meal

I love combining vegetables with a healthy source of protein and fat like wild salmon. I roast chickpeas, cauliflowe­r and sweet potatoes with olive oil, turmeric, black pepper and cumin, then combine with sautéed herby greens and steamed edamame beans. How I stay fit and healthy

Go slow. Developing simple habits and rituals that we can do on our worst days as well as our best is perfect. Fuelling right is an important part of that. I buy nourishing foods, I meal-prep when I can, and I use tinned, frozen and fermented foods when I’m strapped for time. I walk or cycle where

I can – never underestim­ate all the incidental movement we can aggregate in our day from things like housework. My perfect day

I’m an extreme morning person so my perfect day would start with waking early, making a cup of green tea and watching the sunrise on the beach – I live in Brighton by the sea. I’d then do a long workout (without the timepressu­re to get to work and do the school run), and meet friends for a long, slow brunch.
