The Mitre, Surrey
Situated on the banks of the
River Thames next to Hampton Court Palace, you can’t get a more luxurious setting. You’ll be met with a wonderful array of antiques, stylishly designed rooms and a welcome glass of fizz. The Mitre’s Instagrammable interiors have been created by Nicola Harding, who also designed the
beautiful Beaverbrook in Surrey. Each of the 36 spacious rooms have been individually styled and some even open out onto a shared courtyard space – especially handy if you’re travelling with a furry friend. All rooms have their own coffee machine, bath robes and a bespoke minibar. But the real star of the show has to be the 1665 riverside restaurant and the delicious food, thanks to head chef Ronnie Kimbugwe, formerly of Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s – do try the melt-in-the-mouth lobster. Before you head off to bed, make sure you check out their ecelctic, book-filled library, which comes complete with a cool retro jukebox.
