Should I be honest with my neighbour?

-

QMy neighbour invited me over for supper at 6.30pm. We sat and chatted for a bit, and she then said she’d better go and get started on dinner, and invited me to watch.

We ate at 8.30. That’s too late for me, and I ended up with indigestion and a sleepless night. She’s invited me again but I can’t eat that late. What should I do?

AJust tell her! I think the world is split between those who like to eat early and those who don’t. I also think that, as people age, their system changes, and many find they need to eat earlier. Explain to her about your digestion and suggest you have lunch together, as that will suit your system. I’m sure she’ll understand.

If you think it might be a late lunch, you can always have a big breakfast!
