Pom-pom pots
There are several compact and slow-growing cherries that are suitable for cultivating in a container, all reaching no higher than 2-2.5m.
These include ‘Kojo-no-mai’ AGM, which has attractive, twisted branches and small white blossoms that blush pink. The pretty, narrow, weeping ‘Snow Showers’ is free-flowering, with scented white blooms
The flagpole cherry ‘Amanogawa’ and, below, the weeping cherry, ‘Pendula Rubra’
set off by dark-green leaves.
And last but not least, the dwarf Japanese flowering cherry ‘Little Pink Perfection’ has pom-pom-like flowers that smother its spreading branches.
