Dig your garden to cut your risk of an early death

Digging in your garden for half an hour to an hour a week is enough to cut your risk of an early death by up to a fifth. The activity strengthen­s your muscles enough to lower your chance of death from all causes, but particular­ly from cardiovasc­ular disease, cancer and diabetes, according to Japanese research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
