CANVAS TRIO
YOU WILL NEED
✣ Butterfly cookie cutters
✣ Thin white card
✣ Three box canvases
✣ Glue stick
✣ Blue spray paint
1 Using the cookie cutters as a template, draw and cut out butterflies in different sizes on the card – we used 14.
2 Lay your card butterflies out across the three canvases, starting at the bottom left-hand corner of the first one and moving up towards the top right-hand corner of the third one, arranging them as if they’re flying. Lightly stick them in place with the glue stick.
3 In a well-ventilated room, or your garden, balance each canvas on a paint tin. Wear a respirator mask and do several light coats, spraying the fronts and sides of the canvases (mix the paint by shaking the can first, following the manufacturer’s instructions). When the final coat is dry, peel off the butterflies to reveal their unpainted shapes.
