Knitting and crochet

MEASUREMENTS Approximately 22 x 11.5cm/ 8¾ x 4½ in.

MATERIALS

Knitted case: 1 x 50g (145m) ball of King Cole Big Value DK (100% acrylic) of each in White (4020) and Black (4053)*. Pair of 4mm (No. 8) knitting needles; spare needle of same size.

Crochet case: 1 x 50g (145m) ball of King Cole

Big Value DK (100% acrylic) of each in White (4020) and Black (4053)*. Size 4mm crochet hook.

For both: Clear plastic pencil case with zip, approximate size 21 x 11cm; matching sewing thread and needle.

TENSION

Knitted case: 22 stitches and 40 rows, to 10 x 10cm, over pattern, using 4mm needles. Crochet case: 19 stitches and 24 rows, to 10 x 10cm, over pattern, using 4mm hook.

St(s), stitches; k, knit; p, purl, sl, slip (slip stitch purlwise); ch, chain; dc, double crochet; yrh, yarn round hook; FPtr, front post treble crochet thus: yrh, insert hook around post of st as specified, 3 rows below, inserting hook from front, to back, to front again, yrh and pull loop through, [yrh, pull through first 2 loops on hook] twice.
