1 SIZE Melanomas can be any size but one that is growing should be checked out.

2 SHAPE An irregular shape is a worrying feature in a mole.

3 COLOUR A mole with a couple of colours is fine. But get it seen if it has several shades or appears very black.

4 NUMBER If you have more than 250 moles, the risk of cancer goes up.
