MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS LINK
Long-held suspicions that Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is involved in causing multiple sclerosis are supported by a study using stored blood samples from US military personnel. This showed that the risk of multiple sclerosis increased 32-fold after infection with EBV but not after infection with other viruses such as cytomegalovirus. EBV can cause glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis), and also a type of hepatitis. There’s no vaccine yet to protect against EBV.
