TRUE OR FALSE?

Hair can suddenly go white

False. Research suggests that you can’t lose hair colour overnight. Accounts of sudden white hair were probably from alopecia areata or washing out of temporary hair dye. Alopecia areata is a baldness condition, where underlying inflammation affects hair follicles, stopping new hair growth, plus existing pigmented hair falls out, leaving an increase in areas of grey or white hair. Severe stress doesn’t cause sudden hair whitening but can cause sudden hair loss.
